The first oil to be produced using the pioneering technology developed by Udo Erasmus was Flax Seed Oil. This is produced from Certified Organic Flax seeds and is the richest source of Omega 3 Essential Fatty Acids (alpha linolenic acid).
Linseed and flax oil are identical, sharing the Latin name Linum Usitatissium. Linseed oil is nutritional gold, but it must be freshly pressed and unrefined.
The oil pressed from flax, beside being the most inexpensive and practical source of Omega 3 fatty acids (55-60%), is also a source of the Omega 6 fats, carotene, and vitamin E.
During the pressing of the oil, the temperature remains below 40C. This gives the oil a surprisingly delightful, fresh, nutty taste. Unlike many health food oils which are produced by corporations for smaller companies, FMD-cold presses all it’s own oils using a unique process.
Because of Flax Oil’s superior nutritional make-up, the recommendation is that it always be used unheated.
Plastic is not used for packing as it has been shown to react with the oil and can leech chemicals into the oil.
Amber glass bottles are used that protect the oil from sunlight and are also more environmentally friendly than plastic.
Flax oil is perishable and must be stored refrigerated at all possible times (the capsules do not need to be)
Take 1 to 3 capsules Flora Flax Oil three times daily.
